In the morning she spoke and sang at a pre-march rally organized by Code Pink, The National Organization for Women, and the Feminist Majority. There she sang "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" and "Where's My Apple Pie." (The photos of Joan in the jean jacket and scarf were taken at this rally.) The main march started at the ellipse, went up 15th Street to Pennsylvania Avenue past the White House and back to the Washington Monument grounds, where United for Peace and Justice presented "Operation Ceasefire," a concert featuring many performers including Joan, Steve Earle and Sweet Honey in the Rock. Taking the stage at approximately 3:30pm, Joan sang "Christmas In Washington," "Joe Hill," "Where Have All The Flowers Gone," and "A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall." All photos by Neil Bomberg, 2005
